Spring 2013/Summer 2013 Announcement
The week institute covers the content of Math I. Participants will learn to use the latest effective curriculum and materials for teaching Math I. In addition, participants will develop and implement a lesson with their students and will lead other participants through their lesson while showcasing student work. Teams of Mathematics and Special Educators are encouraged to apply.
Teacher Application
The The WVU Mathematics Department will be hosting the spring meeting of the Allegheny Mountain Section, MAA, on Friday and Saturday April 13 and 14. Besides a very good selection of invited speakers there will be sessions for contributed talks by faculty and students. Many schools use the meeting for students to talk about their capstones. Student registration is free. The registration deadline is not until April 6, 2012.

WVU C&I 647 (3 cr) Science/Math Applications for Nutrition/Energy Content (Fall, 2011) is rich in "real world" examples of math as a tool to do science and science as a context to learn math. Examines sustainability issues that integrate public and environmental health, e.g., human powered transit, built environment, food production, and chronic disease. Instructor: jim.rye@mail.wvu.edu . TI - Nspire Workshop Summer 2010 Getting Started with TI-Nspire is for teachers who have never used TI-Nspire before. There will be three topics of Getting Started: Middle
Grades Math; High School Math and Connecting Math and Science. Participants will gain familiarity with the handheld and Teacher Edition
software. They will gain experience using the Math Nspired activities that accompany the TI-Nspire solution. The T3 Instructors will also
discuss the pedagogical implications of using the TI-Nspire solution and the Math Nspired activities. June 22 - 24 at Fairmont State.
Summer Camps for Students 2010 Two summer day camps that should be inviting to students and also target important objectives in data analysis, logic, graphing, and other areas.
Spring 2009/Summer 2010 Announcement
For Mathematics Teachers of Algebra Support, Algebra I, or 7th/8th grade mathematics. The focus will be on integrating the use of educational gaming software and mathematics materials developed for use with robotics in the classroom.
